I’m really thankful for Tim Allen’s round of interviews right now, leading up to the new-network premiere of his sitcom Last Man Standing. Today another one surfaced – this time from radio station Majic 95.5 – where he shared probably the most Toy Story 4 information we’ve gotten in quite some time.
Although we don’t hear much about the extra work that goes on behind the scenes in preparation for a film, there are always merchandise and promotional projects happening in tandem with the actual filmmaking. Books, for example, begin the process of publication long before the movie is released – and sometimes, when you’re lucky, you can find their titles ahead of time on Amazon or other publisher sites. As a part of my constant searching for Toy Story 4 news, I often check for these as well, and today, I actually found some titles with their expected release dates!
We’re now (finally!) less than a year away from Toy Story 4 – 276 days to be exact, or just about nine months, however you want to count it. News on the movie continues to be light, but there have been some small bits of information lately.
While Pixar fans have been hoping to get a Toy Story 4 teaser trailer attached to Incredibles 2 (alas, no, but it’s a fantastic movie! go see it!), yesterday attendees of the CineEurope trade show in Barcelona, Spain were treated to previews of several upcoming Disney movies – including Toy Story 4.
It’s been a really long time since we’ve heard any specific details about Toy Story 4, specifically in regards to the film’s plot, and this lack of information has left a lot of questions in fans’ minds as to whether the original story had been kept or scrapped. Fortunately, thanks to interviews both with Annie Potts, the voice of Bo Peep, and Stephany Folsom, the movie’s screenwriter, over the past several days, we’ve got new reinforcement that production is moving forward in a positive direction, and that the story still is following the same theme as originally planned.
