Time is supposed to give us greater perspective. And since we don’t have a whole lot more to do these days than sit and overthink just about everything in our lives, I’ve been reflecting a bit on Toy Story 4, and how my opinions have evolved since I first wrote about it last summer.

Well, I said I’d be back if there was news to share, so here I am! I decided to try returning from my social media break after a few months, so we’ll see how things go. And since a little bit of Toy Story related news did occur while I was away, I figured I’d better get caught up!
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Toy Story 4! Last night the sequel was honored with the Animated Feature Film win at the 2020 Academy Awards!
We finally have a closer look at Lamp Life! The new Toy Story short premieres on Disney+ next Friday, January 31, and today ET Online shared both an interview with Annie Potts and the short’s trailer!
Disney’s D23 Expo was held this past weekend in Anaheim, and lots of announcements came out of the event’s panels and presentations. Among those were some new details about the Toy Story shorts Forky Asks A Question and Lamp Life, which will be a part of the new Disney+ streaming service launching this November.
Now that Toy Story 4 is in theaters — and doing wonderfully, I might add — the next thing to look forward to is Forky Asks A Question, which will be coming to Disney+ this fall. During the round of promotional interviews for the movie, a few new details have popped up about the series of shorts, especially from Tony Hale, the voice of Forky himself.
I’ve been getting requests to share my thoughts on Toy Story 4, especially now that I’ve seen it twice, so I figured I’d take the time to sit down and write them all out as best as I could while it’s still fresh in my mind. It’s kind of hard to to figure out how to collect everything into a cohesive post – not because my impressions were negative, but because I have so many feelings! – so this is going to be a long one. Here goes…
Well, I wasn’t planning on making any other posts before Toy Story 4 came out. But since tomorrow’s the big day for me, and I’ll have other things to share after a full day of not checking the internet (and just from my own experiences at the movie marathon), I thought I better make one more catch-all post with the latest videos I’ve found.
The Toy Story 4 cast and crew continue to be busy with their promotional tour, and many more interviews and press appearances have been popping up online.
I’ve got something fun to share, before I take my movie hiatus. I’m so excited that Carlton Books gifted me a copy of Woody’s Augmented Reality Adventure, the coolest interactive book featuring all the Toy Story gang!
