Disguise Costumes for ‘Toy Story 4’ Provide New Character Clues

After the Bo Peep reveal yesterday, it’s been a bit of a challenge to sort through the Toy Story 4 news to find anything different.  But I did manage to unearth a glimpse at new (and returning) characters, in the form of Halloween costumes posted by the site Disguise.

The costume company lists two full pages of Toy Story 4-branded costumes, some of familiar faces, others the new toys we’re only starting to learn about.  Most are for children, with only a few for adults.  Let’s take a look at what they have – all of which are listed as new for 2019:

Woody, Buzz, and Jessie are available in the typical range of costumes we’ve seen for them since Toy Story 3 days.  Woody has a Classic and a Deluxe option, as well as an adult accessory kit.

Buzz costumes also come in Classic and Deluxe, as well as a Buzz Tutu Deluxe outfit for girls.  But the most fun are the new inflatable suits – Buzz Inflatable Adult and Buzz Inflatable Child – which can be seen on Disguise’s Twitter.

I’m happy to see a full range of Jessie options on the site, considering she’s gotten a little lost in the Bo hype lately.  Jessie costumes come in  Classic, Deluxe, and a  Jessie Tutu Deluxe like the Buzz tutu style.

Bo Peep costumes are only available in her new look – and she’s one of the few characters sold in adult sizes as well.  For kids – as with the other three – you can choose from Classic or Deluxe.  For adults, there’s Deluxe, and you can also purchase her staff.

Rex is well represented, in a baby costume as well as Rex Inflatable Child and Rex Inflatable Adult suits, which are a lot of fun.  You can see the adult one in action on Disguise’s Twitter:

Mr. and Mrs. Potatohead are available in a combo costume pack.  And the inflatable line continues with an Alien Inflatable Adult costume.

Now, here’s where it gets interesting… the new characters.

Forky is listed as a classic child’s costume.  There’s nothing new about him that we don’t already know… and the mask is a little terrifying, to be honest.  That’s what happens when you have to make a spork larger than life!

But then there’s Duke Caboom, available for adults only.  Although there are no photos of the costume, they do provide a description:

Character jumpsuit, with helmet, belt, detachable cape and mustache!

So, does that sound like this guy, the potential Easter egg we’ve discussed before?

There’s no helmet or cape in the Incredibles 2 image, but I sure see what looks like a jumpsuit and mustache.

Lastly, there’s another name that I’ve only found in one toy listing so far, and that I wrote about last week – Gabby.  The Gabby Gabby Deluxe Adult costume has no front-view full photo, but there is a back view and a couple smaller detail shots:

She looks like a doll, but we’ll have to wait until the rest of the new characters are officially revealed to find out more.  There’s still a lot we don’t know, but it’s always nice to have new pieces to the puzzle!

I’m hoping more adult costumes will be added to this range before Halloween – especially Woody, Buzz, and Jessie.   I can remember after Toy Story 3, the Halloween shops were full of Toy Story costumes – it’d be great to see that again this fall for Toy Story 4.  And I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this site for more product photos to be added.  Stay tuned!

Gabby gabby looks like a parody of chatty Kathy? It looks like the costume has a faux pull string on the back.

That’s what I was thinking from the name, too. 🙂
