We’ve been patiently (ok, maybe not so patiently) waiting for new Toy Story 4 details from Pixar, ever since the first two teaser trailers were released back in November. Now, information has surfaced online that suggests that a new trailer may be imminent!
Yesterday, the site Trailer Track posted that a trailer for Toy Story 4 has been rated and approved in both Canada and Germany. The article cites Alberta Film Ratings, Consumer Protection BC, and Germany’s FSK as their sources.
According to both of the Canadian listings, the trailer’s length is just over a minute and a half (1:35). and was rated G as of January 14. On the German listing, the running time is listed as 1:33 (25 fps) or 1:37 (24 fps), which matches closely in timing. This falls between the length of the original Toy Story 4 teaser trailer (1:27) and the reaction trailer featuring Ducky and Bunny (1:36).
Now that the first real trailer is complete and approved (in at least some countries), when will we see it? Well, it could be any day now, technically. Pixar may surprise us, like before, and release it out of the blue. But if they choose to tie it to an event or occasion – like a sporting event, as the Trailer Track article suggests – the Super Bowl is less than three weeks away, and I remember Inside Out being promoted with the Super Bowl back in 2015. They also suggest that it could be attached to The Kid Who Would Be King, which will be hitting theaters on January 25. Perhaps it will launch online first, like the others, followed by its theatrical debut and its first TV airing during a special promotional event.
As always, I’m hoping for sooner rather than later! And I’m hoping that this trailer will finally give us our first glimpse of Bo Peep’s return!
