As you can guess from the title of my blog, I’m a big Toy Story fan. I remember going to see the first Toy Story movie in the theater, back in 1995; but it wasn’t until the third in the series came out, in 2010, that I truly fell in love with the toys and their world. I’ve been a Disney and Pixar fan most of my life, but something about Toy Story 3 stole my heart.
Why does Toy Story mean so much to me? Well, for one thing, Buzz and Jessie remind me an awful lot of my husband and myself (and our son is very much like Woody). I relate to Jessie on many levels, personally, and see a lot of myself in her. But overall, I’m simply captivated by this motley group of friends who see themselves as family, and who, even though they might not always see eye-to-eye, are always there for each other when it counts.
I decided to start this blog back in 2015, as a place for me to be able to write about the news surrounding Toy Story 4 and Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, in a little more detail than I could on social media. Although I’m not as active on here as I used to be (the internet is a stressful place anymore), I’ve kept the blog going through the launch of Disney+ and the Lightyear film. Now, with Toy Story 5 in the works, I’ve reached a point where I’m trying to decide how much I want to be involved with the fandom. I still love these characters, but it’s easier for me to enjoy them if I distance myself from the drama and keep my thoughts to myself, where they don’t run the risk of being ridiculed by all the hateful people that predominate online anymore.
I’ve pretty much stopped using social media as well, but I do still have accounts on Facebook and Instagram. I also have fanfiction stories on Fanfiction.net and Archive of Our Own.
